In this exhibition “Being there” is important.
The most important thing in my diploma exhibition: things that I can only feel in this moment. So they are real and have a time frame.
I use smell for this. When the audience enters my exhibition hall, they can smell the strong smell of detergent.
I put a layer of washing powder between the alpha channel and the ceramic leaves. One can only smell the smell in this room, and it is impossible to smell it in photos or virtual exhibitions.
I wanted to offer people who have been through the pandemic something that can only be experienced in a “real exhibition hall”. If someone remembers my exhibition, they can relive it by the smell.
